I have been freelance editing since January 2013, with a number of beta reads before that. I offer query packages, reader's reports, and in-depth critiques, as well as sensitivity reads.
Query Critiques
I will do two passes of query critiques for free. If you’d like your first or second pass featured on the blog anonymously, then I can do the critique on the blog as well as emailing edits.
Unlimited query critiques cost $25. You can start this immediately if you know you’ll want more than two looks, or pay when you ask for your third query critique.
Submission Package
I will look over your query, synopsis (single spaced), first 10 pages of your manuscript, and make in-text edits as well as send notes. $40
Reader’s Report
You send me your manuscript and I send you back a reader’s report. The report can be anywhere from 1 page to 4 pages, depending on how much work I believe needs to be done. This will cover plot, pacing, characterization, voice, writing, and anything else I pick up. Reader’s reports cover the big picture of your manuscript.
Pricing is done by word count:
- 20K or less: $80
- 20,001-29,999: $95
- 30,000-39,999: $110
- 40,000-49,999: $125
- 50,000-59,999: $140
- 60,000-69,999: $155
- 70,000-79,999: $170
- 80,000-89,999: $185
- 90,000-99,999: $200
- 100,000-109,999: $215
- 110,000-119,999: $230
- 120,000+: $260
On top of doing a reader’s report, I will also go through and make in-text edits. This can include line editing, some copy editing, checking for continuity, and highlighting examples of issues pointed out in the reader’s report.
